I’m a big believer in the power of ritual - those little things we do that keep us centered, grounded, and thriving in the midst of life’s demands and challenges. Starting the day with a warm cup of coffee, a short breath of meditation, and reading a few pages from a book help me to begin with intention.
When it comes time for breakfast, what I choose to eat is just as important as how I spend my time during the earliest waking hours. My body feels best when I start my morning with protein combined with the right fats and very little sugar. Most mornings I make a quick and easy turmeric yogurt breakfast bowl (or parfait, if you want to get fancy) with the Georgia Gold™ Turmeric Oil so that I can get the protein and the antioxidants that my body needs in my first meal.
I start with a generous scoop of fat-free Greek yogurt - the Publix Greenwise Fat-Free Greek is my favorite because the thick texture is just so wonderful, and when it comes to yogurt, I like it thick! If you are eating plant-based foods, I recommend the Kite Hill plain unsweetened almond yogurt. To the yogurt, add one full dropper of the Georgia Gold™ turmeric oil and a drizzle of honey (local, if you can swing it) to taste. The next two ingredients are pretty unconventional but bear with me here: a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of sea salt. The olive oil gives the yogurt richness without adding any animal fats, and the sea salt highlights the sweetness of the honey. Give it all a stir, and top with your favorite granola and berries, if desired. At the time of this post it is the height of summertime and blueberries are at their best, so today I topped my yogurt bowl with deliciously plump blueberries. The blue of the berries looks so nice with the light yellow color of the yogurt. I couldn’t resist!
No matter what season of life you find yourself in, I hope that adding this delicious yogurt breakfast bowl with the Georgia Gold™ turmeric oil from the American Turmeric Company will become a new cherished ritual for you as well.
