How to Incorporate Our Turmeric in Your Diet
Turmeric’s potency isn’t limited to healing properties, its potency translates into the flavor as well. A main deterrent among many for ingesting turmeric on a regular basis is its bitter taste. However, there are many simple ways to incorporate turmeric seamlessly into your diet without having to scrunch your nose.
Golden milk, known as “haldi doodh” in its origin of India, has been used in Ayurvedic (traditional Indian medicine) for 3,000 years. Its preparation is simple, and results in a delicious alternative to your morning cup of plain milk. This milk can also be used in other recipes, such as lattes or smoothies, or any other food or drink that calls for milk.
To make golden milk, simply add about ½ tbsp of turmeric powder with ½ tbsp of honey. Mix the two together until blended. It should reach a gooey consistency. Then, add your desired amount of your milk of choice. The more milk you add, the more diluted the taste will become. Stir together until completely blended. You’ll end up with a powerful, potassium filled cup of vibrant health and wellness, spanning back a millennium. Enjoy!
